Paraffin-section detection of CD10 in 505 nonhematopoietic neoplasms. Frequent expression in renal cell carcinoma and endometrial stromal sarcoma.
We tested 505 cases of nonhematopoietic neoplasms by immunohistochemistry using a newly characterized monoclonal antibody (clone 56C6) against the CD10 antigen. CD10 was expressed widely in neoplasms of the genitourinary tract, including 41 (89%) of 46 cases of renal cell carcinoma, 13 (54%) of 24 cases of transitional cell carcinoma, and 11 (61%) of 18 cases of prostatic adenocarcinoma. In add...

Many epithelial neoplasms can be analyzed by flow cytometry (FC), particularly from serous cavity effusion samples, using EpCAM, a cell adhesion molecule expressed on most normal epithelial cells and expressed at a higher level in most epithelial neoplasms. A simple 3-color flow cytometric panel can provide a high sensitivity and specificity compared to cytomorphology. FC provides more rapid im...

متن کاملCD10 immunohistochemical staining in urothelial neoplasms.
CD10, or common acute lymphoblastic leukemia antigen, is a cell surface neutral endopeptidase that inactivates various bioactive peptides. It is expressed by hematopoietic cells and their neoplasms and in a variety of nonhematopoietic tissues and neoplasms. CD10 has been suggested as a useful marker for urothelial carcinoma, but the few studies of CD10 in urothelial tissues have shown varying r...
متن کاملThe Accuracy of Ultrasonography in Compared with Computed Tomography in Detection of Anterior Mediastinal Neoplasms
Abstract Background The aim of this study was to evaluate sensitivity and specificity of mediastinal sonography, and compared with CT, in detection of anterior mediastinal neoplasms. Materials and Methods The sonography with convex probes (5.0 and 7.5 MHz) was done prospectively for 34 patients (from 2 to 25 years old) with mediastinal mass. The results were compared with the results of ...
